urban green’s new manchester headquarters transforms circa 4,000 sq ft across two floors into a calm, considered workplace designed for a growing team of environmental consultants. The original design concept was shaped around three words,

nature – fluid – bright.

- but the finished space interprets these ideas in a deliberately understated way. Rather than relying on bold colour or overt branding, a-nd created a tranquil, sophisticated environment through natural materials, muted tones, the clients abundant planting, texture and carefully considered furniture.

The existing architectural character of the building provides the backdrop, with warm timber, soft upholstery and earthy neutral tones creating a tactile and welcoming environment. Subtle accents of colour, add softness without disrupting the calmness of the scheme.

Planting is integral to the experience, bringing Urban Green’s connection with landscape and ecology into the workplace. The sensory experience continues through carefully considered details such as natural materials and room fragrances, creating an environment that feels restorative from the moment you arrive.

Across the two floors, the design provides a variety of settings for focused work, collaboration, meetings, informal conversations and socialising, allowing the workplace to adapt to different needs throughout the day.

At the heart of the first floor is the bespoke multifunctional furniture booth designed specifically for Urban Green, combining seating, storage, breakout tables and informal working within one central piece.

The result is a workplace that feels natural - fluid and quietly bright - a calm and sophisticated environment that reflects Urban Green’s identity while giving its people choice, comfort and space to work.
