chorlton house is the family home of Kaz Jones Russell and Sam Moore in south manchester; a considered, characterful interior that also works as a location house for photography and shoots.

lighting designed to support the space, not compete with it.

a-nd supply worked closely with Kaz and Sam to develop and supply a lighting scheme that could respond to both sides of the house: first and foremost, a practical family home, but also a backdrop for creative work.

the approach was deliberately simple. monochrome track and spot lighting runs throughout the interior, providing flexibility and focused illumination without distracting from the architecture, furniture and material palette. clean lines and a restrained finish allow the fittings to sit quietly within each space, rather than becoming a feature in their own right.

externally, feature lighting was introduced to bring another layer to the house after dark, highlighting the architecture and extending the atmosphere of the interior into the outdoor spaces.

all lighting was supplied by a-nd supply, working with our lighting partner Nordlux, balancing function, flexibility and simplicity throughout.

chorlton house has since been featured in the august 2026 issue of Ideal Home, appearing on the front cover and as part of the magazine’s Light Fantastic feature.

perhaps fittingly, the track lighting was retouched from the published cover image. the original tells the fuller story - a lighting scheme designed to work hard while sitting quietly within the architecture.
